Generally speaking the sales copy on a web page is quite long and includes proof and testimonials to invoke a sale.
However, I have noticed that most of the email letters used to mail out to our mailing lists are quite short. Would it be advantages to lengthen them a bit and include testimonials? Or, is shorter better?

I have a couple affiliate marketing sites and plan to build a few more, as I find a market that appeals to me. I don’t already have a large list, so my marketing is by building a niche type of site and promoting it through several methods. The affiliate programs I’m more interested in are a line of products vs one product. (Yes, back end is ok)
My questions is this. A real challenge in affiliate marketing, is the conversion. I try to build site that promotes that niche with focus on some of the products. The problem is that eventually I must send my visitor to the site to make the purchase. I have no control from there. I’m not even sure this is your style of affiliate marketing.
How can I improve the results once the visitor has gone to the ecommerce site? I have begun to build more opt-in and ’squeeze’ pages on my sites. Most of the programs have no regular promotions, so that benefit is limited.
