Hey everyone,
This morning we had a great training show. I had Derek Faylor as my “special” guest. He runs Russell’s PPC advertising here at DotComSecrets. Before the live training show, Derek and I were chatting. I told him to keep it all pretty basic, as I didn’t want to go over anyone’s head.
Tell me what you think of the show. You can watch the replay here.
Derek started talking about how our affiliates can create a squeeze page in a “Sub” niche and still be able to promote Russell’s products. As an example, think about creating a squeeze page/review site comparing different online university programs. So you create a keyword list and bid on those keywords. When the subscriber gets to the site, you have information about the programs as well as some of Russell’s products teaching a Money Making Degree.
The reason for looking at different sub niches is to help you find keywords that are cheaper than the keywords focusing on Making Money Online. Those words are expensive.
Pretty cool idea.

If anyone is going to Affiliate Summit please let me know. It would be fun to meet up. I will be heading to Boston on Monday and will be there until Wednesday.
I look forward to seeing your comments about the show, and any suggestions you can provide to make our affiliate program even better.
take care,
Brent

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to be the first to let you know about our Re-vamped FREE DVD Promotion.

DotComSecrets FREE DVD
To give some of you who may be new to our affiliate center some background, we initially launched this product in Dec. of 2006. The response we received was awesome. We had top affiliates and Joint Venture partners promote this FREE DVD, and are still receiving residual commission checks. I mean that they promoted this FREE DVD that has a continuity element to it, where we pay the affiliate everymonth that the customer they referred stays subscribed.
This is SO Powerful! You do the work ONCE, and you get paid over and over again.
You can check out the page here
Your affiliate link is:
http://USERNAME.thesecondtier.com/freedvd
(replace USERNAME with your secondtier username)
This FREE DVD is perfect for Review Sites, Thank You Pages, Autoresponders, and of course a nice Email Blast.
We pay a $7.50/monthly residual commission plus commissions on any products they purchase.
If you have any questions about this product or any others, please feel free to contact me.
until next time,
Brent

I wanted to take a minute, and highlight a new (revamped) product for you to promote and make great commissions. Russell just sent out a small email to his list a couple of hours ago, and this offer is converting like crazy. At this time, we haven’t invited any “Big” affiliates on board. We wanted to give you an opportunity to promote this first.
It’s not everyday that a product like this comes out. As an affiliate, we pay you $100/sale.
Your affiliate link is:
http://USERNAME.thesecondtier.com/bulklandmine
(replace USERNAME with your Second Tier Username)
Here is a link to a short video of Russell explaining his Bulk Landmines to potential buyers.

If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact me. This thing is selling like hotcakes, so don’t wait to promote.

I was blown away when Chris in our office said that one of my posts from January was #1 in google for the search terms “Affiliate Marketing Rocks”. Seriously, go check it out in google. He said that we have had traffic to our blog as a result. I used the same keywords in this post to see what happens…
If you do not have a blog, what are you waiting for. This is an obvious example of driving traffic. The funniest thing is that this was totally unintentional. Chris is the SEO guy who takes care of this in our company, so it was cool to hear the news.
Are you doing anything intentional (or unintentional) to bring traffic to your affiliate links? I am curious to hear the strategies from you of what is working and what isn’t. Please post those things that are working for you.
Have a great weekend!!!
Brent
P.S. My family and I area making the 12 hour drive to Alberta Canada to celebrate my 10 Year High School Reunion. Pretty crazy. Driving with 2 kids under 3 should be interesting… I am open to any advice so that my wife and I don’t go CRAZY..

The other day I was talking to one of our top affiliates, and they said that they are struggling to reach their sales goals. This affiliate has created squeeze pages, he doing all the web 2.0 stuff and still isn’t seeing the success that he hoped for. After our conversation ended, I began to think about the rest of you. How many of you are in this exact same situation? You are following the steps, yet are not seeing the results.
First off, if you don’t have goals, then you need to set some. You need something to work towards. I advised this affiliate to set smaller specific goals. Have you ever heard of S.M.A.R.T Goals? Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. Put your own goals to the test. If you are only selling 1 or 2 of our products a week, don’t set a goal of selling 1000 products a week. Maybe increase your goal to 100. With that increase, you need to identify the steps that are necessary in achieving that goal. Are you squandering your time online?
Heck even as a am writing this post, I am reflecting on my own goals. I have been falling short in certain areas, so I need to make some adjustments…
Here are some goals you should consider:
How many clicks?
How many sales?
How often are you emailing?
Look at your account in our affiliate center (www.thesecondtier.com). You will see an asension model. Do you want to be a Super Affiliate? If you are a new affiliate, maybe you set your initial goal to sell $500 of our products so that you can become a “novice affiliate”. Immediately setting your goal to be a Super Affiliate if you are new, and have a small email list might be pushing it.
Even though I would love to see as many of you get there as possible!!!
I know that having proper goals, will help you attain the next level in your business.
Good Luck,
Brent Coppieters

Hey Everyone,
So today I was interviewed by a friend of mine for just over an hour. He is about to launch a membership site teaching the basics of internet marketing and is offering as a bonus an interview with me and Russell.
I trained on all things affiliate related, and described what I do etc. It was really cool. Brad sucked out information, that I didn’t know I had.
There was a theme that prevailed throughout the call. Brad asked me what I thought the most important part of my job was. I thought it was almost too simple.
It’s all about Relationships! Building Relationships of Trust.
I know, it seems pretty basic. If you treat others the way you would like to be treated, I promise you that you will be more successful. As an affiliate, if you call or email me and tell me about yourself I will get to know you better. Networking is so important in this business. Whether you are an affiliate working on your own, or an affiliate and product owner it doesn’t matter. You will be more successful if you seek to foster and build relationships with others.
I want you to be successful. I see this blog as a means to provide suggestions and training that Will help you achieve success.
As far as Affiliate Evolution goes, the launch has been Great. Thanks to all of you who have promoted. We have had amazing people promote. Thank you!
I have received a ton of positive emails of support for this launch and product. People have accused Russell of going nuts, by only charging $10. If you are living under a rock and haven’t checked it out go to:
www.AffiliateEvolution.com
We will do a 30 minute training show on Monday- Watch for an email from me this weekend with all the details!!!
Take Care,

Hey Everyone,
Wow, what a week. We had a great time on our company cruise. A big Thanks to Russell and Collette. We all had a great time cruising down to Mexico. The weather was beautiful, and it was nice to spend time with each other outside of work.
If you missed our Training call this morning don’t worry, you can listen to it here.
On the call we had one of our awesome affiliates: Corey Lewis. Corey is on his way to becoming a big name in this business. He understands and knows what it takes be successful. He has goals that he is working towards so that he can do this full-time. Corey is networking and building relationships with top marketers that is going to help him tremendously down the road.
On the call he shares his top 4 ways to drive traffic. I am sure you can all use the tips!!! You can hear the recording right here.
Travelling:
Ya, just as I get unpacked from our trip I am packing my bags again. This time Russell, Tom Rich (VP of Marketing) and I are heading to Armand Morin’s Big Seminar. Are any of you going to be attending? Armand always has a great event, and provides plenty of opportunities to network etc.. From there we take a quick trip to Florida so that we can film our new Infomercial… Pretty Exciting! I will get back back to the office Thursday May 1st. If you need me, I will have periodic access to my email.
Thanks so much!
