Has this been a busy year for affiliate marketing or what?
Everyday we see new products and services hit the marketplace. Every affiliate must make the choice of which products or services to promote.
I discussed this exact issue on my last Monday Morning Training Call. As I work so closely with Russell, I see his struggle in deciding which products to endorse and promote to his large marketing list. Russell is very selective in what products he will promote. He always wants to get access to the product or at least thoroughly review the sales letter and buying process before he promotes. He does this for a couple of reasons. 1st: It helps him to get a better understanding of the product and 2nd: This allows him to be more personal in his promotion. He might see some benefits to his list, that the product owner may not have thought of…
Russell promotes products that are unique. I won’t even waste his time forwarding him a Joint Venture request if it isn’t unique. I get calls from upset product owners asking why Russell didn’t promote for them. There are a couple reasons for this. 1st: There may be something wrong with the product, and he doesn’t feel comfortable endorsing it. 2nd: it may be very similar to a product or service that we sell, and 3rd: he may already be committed to promote another product, or just may not have the time to promote.
As you become a bigger and better affiliate, you too are going to need to set standards for products that you will and will not promote.
Of course, the goal of the product owner is to always create products that are creative, unique, and will better the marketplace somehow. We are confident that as you check our products at www.thesecondtier.com you will find such unique products.

Nice simple blog you have here.
Hey Brent,
I can only speak for myself but as someone who is setting out to earn an online reputation as someone to trust. I think it’s just as important for a “newbie”to be selective as it is for an established marketer.
I mean, let’s face it, I could go out and promote a dozen or so good products and maybe get a gee thanks from one of the sales. But, promote one real dog, and bang all that hard work down the drain.
It’s like a restaurant, you give people good food everyday and maybe, a big maybe they tell other people. But, give them one crappy (no pun intended) one and you can bet they’ll tell everyone.
So, I’m glad Russell and you guys are doing some of the homework for us by pre-screening stuff for us to promote.
Thanks, David Dalton.
For the affiliate marketing beginner, choosing the right product tp promote can be so difficult.
What I say is if possible, use the product yourself. See if it does what it says on the can. Was it useful for you?
It is important that affiliate marketers do not promote duds because this will reflect negatively on you
Yes I agree with you guys, you need to be very selective in who you promote, why? because
This is your life blood of your business and no
one wants to buy a product that don’t work
do you?
Yes be selective but don’t let that slow you down. As a newbie start with a product. Most newbies do not make a living from the first promotion. But you can learn alot from trying to market this one product. You may even make a sale. But the most important thing is the learning curve.
So don’t be paralyzed with the decision as to which product to promote
Jump in and learn as you go
I’m excited about becoming an affiliate with you. I have not had success so far and am hoping this will
be the venture that works. The Monday morning calls - will I be able to have access to what was discussed at
a later time? I am unable to participate on Monday mornings. Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Barbara
